My Sporting Journey
I started my running journey relatively late, purchasing my first pair of running shoes when I was already 36 years old. Initially, I disliked running due to negative associations from my school days. I could barely manage 15 minutes on a treadmill without stopping. Some friends cautioned about the risks of running at my age, emphasizing potential knee injuries and other issues. While I acknowledged their concerns, I focused on running safely to avoid setbacks that could be harder to recover from at my age.
During my first year of running, alongside training, I immersed myself in learning from tutorial books, YouTube videos, and engaging with running communities on social media to master proper techniques and safety measures. My initial goal was simply to complete a 10k race, participating in local events to stay motivated and achieve this milestone. Collecting medals became a rewarding part of my journey, and I shared my progress on social media not to boast but to inspire others and make a positive impact.
