My Sporting Journey
I am an ex-national level long-distance runner with a running career spanning over 30 years. My best times include a 21km in 1 hour and 12 minutes and a 10km in 32:30, both set in 1998. I have completed more than 200 half marathons.
I am the head coach of the Superfit Juhu group and the founder of Team Mumbai Flyers. I have won gold medals at Mumbai University in the 5000m, 10,000m, cross-country, and half marathon events for three consecutive years. I was selected for the All India Inter-University competitions in 1998, 1999, and 2000. Additionally, I won a bronze medal at the Maharashtra State Cross Country Championship in 1999 and 2000 and represented Maharashtra at the national cross-country championships, where I won silver and bronze medals in the 1500m in 1999 and 2000. I also won gold at the Maharashtra State Cross Country in the team championship for Mumbai city in 1999.
I was awarded the best athlete of the year by MMK College for my overall performance in sports at the university, district, and state levels for three consecutive years (1998, 1999, and 2000). In 2018, Mumbai Road Runners (MRR) recognized me as the most improved runner of the year. I have been a podium finisher at the Mumbai 10k run and the Vasai Virar 21k relay run in 2018 and 2019, and I was the second runner of the IDBI Stadium Run relay team in 2019.
I was selected to represent our country in the Asian Masters 21km run held on March 5, 2023. I have served as an ambassador, motivator, influencer, and pacer for numerous marathon events in Mumbai and currently hold an ambassador role for Brooks. Representing Maharashtra and Mumbai University at the national level has been a significant part of my journey, with many more achievements to come.
